The suction cup is STRONG. It attaches to anything that is non-porous, and some things that are porous. You cannot attach it to a regular wall, because there are too many bumps. But it attaches to desks, dressers, door frames, window panes, tiles, white boards, chalk boards, bed frames, and even non-smooth wood surfaces. It is pretty powerful! I was actually shocked.
